Peter O’Mara – It Is What It Is

It Is What It Is by Peter O’Mara is the latest release by the legendary Australian jazz guitarist. It features brand-new compositions performed by incredible musicians like Tim Collins, Basti Pfeifer, Patrick Scales, and Christian Lettner. A lot of care has gone into the production of this album to create a masterpiece of jazz-rock fusion.

The tracks take the listener through a wide spectrum of moods and styles which are part of contemporary jazz rock fusion. Three of the musicians were members of Klaus Doldinger´s legendary jazz-rock group Passport. Peter O’Mara´s musical career looks back on a huge array of records and performances. He moved to Munich, Germany in late 1981, establishing himself as one of the most versatile guitarists in Europe, performing with Dave Holland, Joe Lovano, Bob Mintzer, Benny Bailey, Johnny Griffin, Ack van Rooyen, Peter Herbolzheimer, Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, John Taylor, Randy Brecker, Charlie Mariano, Tony Lakatos, Mike Nock, Russell Ferrante, Brian Auger, Anthony Jackson, Marc Johnson, Adam Nussbaum, John Marshall, Terri Lyne Carrington, Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, NDR Bigband and the United Jazz & Rock Ensemble.

For his 65th birthday on 09.12.2022, he presented a big band concert featuring his original compositions and arrangements at the Munich jazz club Unterfahrt.
