„Grounded“, the impressive album by Scales, is like the soundtrack to an imaginary road movie that takes us through the musical provenances of jazz, funk, blues, pop, hip hop, and beyond around the world: from the starting point in Munich, it leads to Brazil, to the Australian outback, from West, Central and South Africa to the pulsating life of urban America. Despite the diverse ethnic and stylistic influences, the music of Scales never sounds arbitrary. For the brothers and their musical circle of friends, the blending of elements is a natural, often unconscious affair, „which is easier to realize musically than to justify“. This music is constantly in flux, thriving on surprising twists and turns and delightful contrasts: it is tight and open, grounded and airy, complex and simple.
We’ll never know, what we are living for
unless we reach for higher grounds
There’s a reason for each and everything
Will we ever learn to see through other’s eyes?
We’ll never, know until we flow
in the ocean of eternity, of notion and equality
All the games that we play, drive us further away
from a peaceful harmony
Like a flower, like a child, we need to grow
I’ve realized the love I have within
is meant to guide and comfort me
There’re seasons in each and every life
Will I ever learn to see through my lovers eyes
I’ll never know until I flow
In the ocean of serenity, of love and generosity
All the games that we played, drove us further away
From the love we used to share
I’ve realized the love we have within
is meant to guide and comfort us
There’re seasons in each and every life
Will we ever learn to see through our lover’s eyes?
We’ll never, know until we flow
in the ocean of eternity, of notion and equality
All the games that we played, drove us further away
From the love we used to share
Like a flower, like a child, we need to grow
