Gert Wilden

Gert Wilden, scion of a traditional Bohemian family of musicians, initially studied composition, piano and conducting at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, jazz „on the street“ so to speak. His fascination with the roots of black cultures led him to travel extensively to Brazil and Africa. Today he lives in Munich and Berlin.

* As a live musician, he worked for many years with many important representatives of the international jazz and rock scene, including Billy Cobham, John Lord, Brian Auger, Hermeto Pascoal, Klaus Doldinger and many others.

* He first turned to film as a collaborator on a series of primetime TV movies and series.

* This was later followed by his first cinema projects such as the cult film „Taxi Lisboa“ by Wolf Gaudlitz, Florian Gallenberger’s OSCAR®-winning short film „Quiero Ser“, Joseph Vilsmaier’s Holocaust drama „Leo & Claire“ and the cult children’s film „Die Wilden Kerle, Teil1“. He contributed a piano composition to Marc Rothemund’s OSCAR® nominated „Sophie Scholl – The Last Days“.
